No Season 2 for the spin-off series.
December 19, 2025
Word is out that NCIS: Tony & Ziva has been cancelled by Paramount+ after just one season. The news comes two months after the spin-off series wrapped its 10-episode freshman run on the streaming service.
"We feel incredibly lucky to have had the chance to play these characters once again and to tell the next chapter of Tony and Ziva's story," said stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo in a joint statement. "Our deepest thanks go to our extraordinary cast, crew, writers, directors, and producers, and to our partners at CBS Studios and Paramount+ who helped make this dream a reality. But most of all, we want to thank the fans around the world who joined us on this adventure and finally got to see Tony and Ziva find their happily ever after."
The sixth spin-off in the NCIS franchise, NCIS: Tony & Ziva is set following the events of NCIS, with Tony and Ziva raising their daughter together. When Tony's security company is attacked, they are forced to go on the run across Europe while trying to figure out who is after them - and possibly learn to trust each other again.

My 2 cents. Never was a fan of Ziva. I was heartbroken when they killed off Kate. Now she and Tony had the chemistry. Just never liked Ziva’s character and cold personality. Was not sad to see her go and it got confusing bringing her back after so many years with Bishop looking into her reappearance. Anyway, took me a while to actually watch the new show. Still love Tony but he was not the Tony we all knew on NCIS. Ziva had a far better personality but still there was no chemistry so not sure why they ended the season on them getting back together. Enjoyed the other characters. Great actresses, well except for Piper whatever her name is. Flashbacks were too much. Several shows taking place overseas yet many do not work out. Such a shame since it’s nice to see the beautiful cities they film in.

CBS and Paramount are circling the drain now. Only a matter of time.

This is the Tony/Ziva storyline no one asked for and the writing killed this series.
It’s a shame that they took the fan desire to see Tony and Ziva again and twisted it to fit the international production deal they threw together. No one asked for this mess of a plot with stretched beyond the normal suspension of disbelief. I love the NCIS franchise but like others - this spin off needed to just end.
Dear CBS - the core series works because it’s smart, serious and focused. These spin offs like Cyber, Sydney, later episodes of LA, etc… they end up not working when the writing gets sloppy, the plot becomes totally unbelievable and the storylines just don’t connect to the roles of the characters anymore. This entire series felt like it was freelance writers who knew nothing of the core storylines of Tony and Ziva.

Normally, I don't like to comment on a show's demise as I know a lot of people like shows that I hate and it irritates me in the reverse when people are happy my show is off the air. But this one I have to say I'm glad isn't getting a second season. I've been loyal to the franchise since it was spun off from Jag 22 years ago. I've watched a few spin offs that I didn't really like just to keep the ratings up. To me, they completely destroyed the Ziva's character and almost Tony's. My wife gave up on it a few episodes before the end because of how all over the place the story was going. Most of the spins were not spins they were missing plot holes. Most of the time I felt insulted and I imagined the writers and producers sitting in a room watching stuff that was shot and going, "Nah that didn't work. No budget to reshoot so... lets just change the script, throw in a commercial break there and no one will notice."
I could not have watched a second season and it's hard to not be loyal to a franchise 30 years after it started (including the original Jag air date in 1995).

CBS and Paramount+ love to destroy shows, bringing back characters just for a quick buck. The story sucked. They put in Tony and Ziva to attract viewers. Show still sucks. Boston Blue suck level. I have given up on most Paramount + and CBS.

I must say I watched 2 episodes and just couldn't watch the rest. I didn't find the story interesting enough for my liking. It was nice to see Tony and Ziva again and perhaps this was a way for some viewers to get closure for those characters, even though I didn't watch the entire show. I do like the current NCIS and NCIS: Origins, btw.
I won't miss there being a S2, as I didn't finish S1. I'm finding plenty of tv to watch without this series. Best wishes, otherwise, to the cast & crew of the Tony & Ziva production.

I'm not the least bit surprised. Paramount+ is where shows go to die.
I'll be honest, I actually didn't even know it was out yet, and my family has watched all of the NCIS shows as they come out on TV for the better part of a decade. They could have at least have done a single-episode crossover with the main show (you know, the show that these characters were originally on) as a way to draw attention to it.

Its weird, as convenient as streaming is on paper, i find it very difficult to find time to sit down and binge like i did with Tivo. Im looking forward to watching this show, but its 7th in line right now (which is probably one of the reasons it was cancelled.)

I thought this was a good show. It was entertaining.
I'm not surprised cbs dumped it and kept other garbage. That seems to be a pattern at cbs.
Just my 2 cents.

I really liked this show. A lot of twist and turns.
