The comedy will return for a second season.
April 30, 2026
ABC announced today that Scrubs has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes two weeks after the comedy wrapped its 9-episode freshman run. The pickup makes sense, as its premiere in February was this season's top-rated comedy telecast among adults 18-49.
A revival of the 2001 original comedy, Scrubs follows JD and Turk, who are back and scrubbing in together for the first time in over a decade. Medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart Hospital with laughter, heart, and some surprises along the way.

What a shocker, this revival was as good as the original in its early years. And just the right amount of nostalgia, it was great that Judy Reyes was able to take time off from "High Potential" to show up occasionally.
Perhaps Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke will forever be typecast in their Scrubs roles, but they are so good at it.

This was a good revival. Not great, but good for sure. I hate the HR rep character, but thankfully she is a very small part of the show.
She should not exist, JD should be in the Cox role, and Cox should be in the Kelso role.
But it's still good, and with how terrible some of these revivals have been, I'm thankful that it's not as trash as Buffy would have been and how bad X-Files will be. Fingers crossed they watch that pilot and send it to the grave.
Thank God pilots are back and we stop getting 2-season auto pickups of terrible shows just to keep the content churn going. Maybe the TV/film industry is starting to realize making money is more important than sending a message when no one likes being preached to by something that is supposed to be entertainment.

So ABC is completely out of ideas too, and has to revive long dead shows that had run their course and got cancelled?

Great! Really enjoyed this continuation.
And if you wanna be picky about what season it is, then let's pretend the old season 9 never existed, so this is new season 9 and next year it will be 10 ;)
Anyway, it's a revival, new imdb name, new season 1+2.
