Shame. Loved the show. But if it's not getting enough viewers, it's not getting enough viewers. And it wasn't a cheap show, either. Unfortunately, it's not a show for everyone... which is what made it interesting to me... but also is what kept it from getting better ratings.
And BTW the networks DO listen to viewers, read the forums. For instance, I heard that Lauren German's getting sacked from Hawaii 5-O because of the chatter on the web.
And to the poster who said it sometimes takes more than 8 episodes for a show to find an audience... Sorry, but you're wrong. The few times that's happened are the exceptions not the rule. Especially on a major network.
Prime Suspect is better suited for a slot FX or a similar non major network. The ratings don't need to be so high. They can take more chances dramatically as well.

I believe the networks need to start listening to the people who watch TV not just the nielson folks or whomever they are listening too. Prime Suspect is a really good show so was Detroit 147, Under covers and many other good shows that have been cancelled. including Law and Order LA, Law and Order (original) . People who spend money are the older folds like me (40 and up) they are also the people who watch quality TV not reality tv. Stop the madness and put the good shows back on if you a a few million folds watching that is a good thing.

This is crazy!!! Finally, a show that I actually loved on NBC, and they cancel it! It seems like anytime they have a good thing, they blow it. Hopefully, their loss will be another station's gain!!! NBC just lost one more viewer!

I always really enjoyed this show and thought the characters had depth and intelligence. It was well acted and I got really involved in the main character Jane. I really loved the original British show with Helen Mirren and eagerly looked forward to watching this show. Hope someone brings it back and continues it.

finally, a cop show with real characters and character. Great writing, wonderful acting, awesome music, nice premise. They're blowing it if they cancel it.

Whenever they have a show that someone with an IQ over 80 would like they cancel it. Sometimes it takes more than 8 episodes to find an audience but if you never wait it never happens. Really what does NBC have other than this show except Parenthood? Soon we won't need this network at all. All the really good shows are going to cable. Wise up and stop directing your shows at the lowest common denominator.
