A drama where prisoners who mysteriously vanished from Alcatraz decades ago reappear in the present.
Rebecca is a San Francisco police detective who discovers that a fingerprint found on a homicide victim belongs to a former Alcatraz prisoner who died decades in the past.
When she runs into resistance looking into her discovery, Rebecca turns to an expert on Alcatraz prison to help her piece together the mystery that is slowly unraveling.
Their investigation reveals that the prisoner in question is actually still alive and loose on the streets of San Francisco. What's more, is that he may not be the only prisoner from Alcatraz to reappear in the present.

Very disappointed. I watch very few shows on TV, only 2 other shows. Mostly watch sports, but so looked forward to this show every week that I would forgo sports for the hour. I agree with most people on here wondering why shows that are 'stupid' continue to stay on but an intriguing show like this gets canceled after 1 season.

I personally loved Alcatraz, and it was well written enough to drag me along a few more seasons at worst, it realy disturbs me that we ,or I take the time to sit through a first season and abandon the brain dead shows about whos dating who and ,why Nobody loves me,because I have blonde hair or no hair or some stupid show,like I give a rats rear about more reality ,ive had enough reality from my own damn life thats why I watch sci fi and etc, an as I started say if Fox dosent quit yanking off decent shows after one season then I personally am going to quit watchinh the network at all, and if anyone else feels the same as i do, please join me!!!

It's bad enough when they cancel a good show but it's devastating to leave us without closure. When will they get there act together and at least do a 2 hour cancellation episode give us some answers and finish off the story. Very sad to see this one go and like the others have stated it is indeed a mystery as to how some shows 2nd rate have unexplained longevity and then shows that provoke thought and debate are cancelled on the slightest whim. Yours truly a truly disgruntled viewer.

I am seriously starting to think I am missing something. The shows that stay and the shows that are canceled continue to leave me dumbfounded. This was a show that was written well enough to last for multiple seasons no problem. Yeah, I just don't get it.

This is so wrong they keep stupid shows on like family guy and the reality show about dumb women trying to be bitc... This show was great and worth watching.

This is the biggest disappointment of all the cancelled shows. Loved this one!!! My husband doesn't watch a lot of tv shows, but he watched this one with me! This one will be missed! Great story lines in the future. What an upset!!!!!!!!
