A drama where prisoners who mysteriously vanished from Alcatraz decades ago reappear in the present.
Rebecca is a San Francisco police detective who discovers that a fingerprint found on a homicide victim belongs to a former Alcatraz prisoner who died decades in the past.
When she runs into resistance looking into her discovery, Rebecca turns to an expert on Alcatraz prison to help her piece together the mystery that is slowly unraveling.
Their investigation reveals that the prisoner in question is actually still alive and loose on the streets of San Francisco. What's more, is that he may not be the only prisoner from Alcatraz to reappear in the present.

I sincerely hope they do not 86 Alcatraz. The story and the acting are both pretty good. There are not many things on TV anymore that aren't reality shows,(which I despise!) This and CSI(Lost Vegas version),NCIS,Body of Proof, Rizzoli and Isles (really like the gals in these two programs; they have been in other shows and I have developed a fondness for them), Bluebloods, Unforgettable. That is about it for me. Wife likes some other shows other than the above.
Again, I sincerely hope you do not ax this show. It is the first entertainment show I have look forward to other than CSI in 4 or 5 years.

I don't think they will stop with the 63s, remember the guards that were later found? They will also possible include guards to fill in the gaps. I really do hope they do not cancel the show, at least not before they explain what they want with their blood, why they are reappearing, and what happened to all the gold.

Alcatraz has all the right people involved financial, crew & actors. Fox & NBC needs to give a couple seasons to shows like this before even thinking about cancelling them. Remember "Seinfeld" & "How I met your mother" wasn't popular for their first few seasons. Judd Apatow's "Freaks & Geeks", "Undeclared" was cancelled after one season even though Apatow & his comedian mafia are now ruling hollywood comedies. Don't do the same thing to j.j. Abrams.

I'm from the UK and onto episode 8 of Alcatraz and LOVE IT!! I loved Lost and still miss it, I got my son into watching that and he now loves Alcatraz as much as I do. Plus Jorge Garcia is on this too. Please don't cancel the show-let it run for a good few series then we have something to fill the void left from Lost

This is a terrible show! Too many flaws and too many loop holes with so much confusion between the past and present. I love the very first five minutes of the show when a prisoner suddenly appeared in a empty cell and went outside and tried boarding in the boat back to the mainland. And then here's a joke when a park employee stopped him and asked him for a ticket! Now since when an employee ask tourist for a ticket to go back in the only boat that comes out from the mainland??!! How do they think these tourists enter The Rock in the first place?! Do they swim out with the sharks in the ocean?? Seriously...that poor writing! And there are more like that in the show. I have counted 67 mistakes so far! They have the worst writing team to do such crappy show like this! And I wonder why I don't have a frigging job!
