A drama following a world-renowned neuroscientist struggling with her own mental illness.
Catherine Black is a well-known neuroscientist who secretly struggles with bipolar disorder. The only other person who knows about her illness is her psychiatrist, who was at Catherine's side after her first break and acts as her maternal figure since her mother committed suicide after struggling with the same disease.
Catherine, along with her staff at The Cube, work to diagnose and treat challenging cases of patients with rare conditions.

Black Box has the important task of reducing the stigma for those with mental illness. Most of us have known someone mentally affected, but due to this stigma, people who need help most do not seek treatment, take their medication or want to admit they are ill. The effects of this have been socially devastating. However, due to this show, many fans with mental disorders have begun to seek treatment. This is a huge milestone in beginning to address serious social issues. By raising awareness of the mentally ill, as we did for gay rights and women’s rights, we can all create a better world for ourselves.

this show is very intriguing and helps the general public become more aware of mental illness. bipolar people deserve a voice and kelly reilly does a great job bringing mental illness to the mainstream. she makes it believable and therefore brings hope. please consider another time slot. but do not cancel...

At first I wasn't sure, but I haven't missed an episode. I hope it makes it, but any show that is too "intelligent" normally doesn't. Please continue.

If you should ever find yourself in the care of such incompetent and irresponsible doctors as these, I strongly advise you to run away. Very fast. Which is what you should do from this dismal dog of a show. You want to watch a show about someone who's brilliant but a little unhinged? Go watch Phineas and Ferb. Dr. Doofenshmirtz is less of a caricature than the caricatures on this show.

Love this show! I have not missed an episode and it allows us to use our brains. Please renew for another season. We need more intelligent shows like this.

Best show of the off season, really hope ABC renew the series. Quality writing & acting. I first tuned in because I was curious about the "Title", Black Box was an unusual Title. The acting is superb, all actors bring something special to their character. I don't know what the POWERS THAT BE & make these decision will decide to RENEW THE SHOW!!!!
