A comic crime drama following an offensive, but brilliant, detective returned from exile to run a special crime unit.
Lieutenant Everett Backstrom is an unhealthy and offensive detective who is brought back from a five year exile to head Portland Police Bureau's Special Crimes Unit. Tasked with working the city's most serious cases, Backstrom utilizes his dark instincts and odd abilities to solve crimes while trying to improve his own self-destructive behavior.

Please renew! I love the characters and the relationships that have developed. There are so many inane comedies out there that get renewed season after season. This show has grit!

Like the show. Why is it that we as well as the cast are left in limbo. The season is over', no information as to it being renewed. Networks have no respect for the workers. Maybe someone on the show has a opportunity for another job but is running out of time to let the people know if he or she is available. Network loyalty to the crew sucks. MKL@ML

Love the show. Great cast and Backstrom is much more likable than any character on a reality show. Please give it another chance. The season finale was awesome and can't wait to see how the character grows.

Just watched season finale. I truly love this show and don't want to see it end so soon. Please renew. So much character depth. So many shows are so shallow and brainless about perfect people. Backstrom is lovably flawed.

Please do not cancel Backstrom. I only recently found it, and I love the characters and the story. Rainn Wilson is so good. I am hopefully awaiting a second season.

I had high hopes for this show but after the first two episodes I realized that it was nothing more than a remake of HOUSE M.D. but with detectives instead of doctors. Unfortunately, it's not written or acted as well as HOUSE was. I don't see it lasting more than one or two seasons.
