A police drama following officers of New York's Public Morals Division in the 1960s.

Terry Muldoon is an honest and hardworking officer in New York City's Public Morals Division, which investigates vice crimes in the city. Many of Muldoon's fellow cops walk a thin line between morality and criminality, tempted by all that comes from working the city's dark underbelly.

As Muldoon watches the Hell's Kitchen streets where he grew up get overtaken by an escalating war within two factions of the Irish-American Mob, he becomes determined to fight back in order to provide a safe place for his family to live.

Every time there is a good show on tv it gets canceled ugh I really, really liked this show. And Steven Spielberg is connected but in this case I guess it didn't matter.
So sad.......

This show is fantastic! The actors are awesome, the writing amazing and I love the overall feel of the show. I'm so sick of shows that are predictable and follow a dull unimaginative script. Public Morals was like a breath of fresh air from all the stale, boring tv shows. Hope it has a successful and long run.

This show is excellent. Lived in NYC in that time period. Captured exactly the way it was. Hope tent renews

I like this show a lot. The cast is great, the writing as well. But I agree that the direction is a bit dull and uninspired. But as one who lived in NYC in those seedy bad old days, I must say it comes close to having the right feel for the times (except that the streets are too empty, too quiet, and WAAAAAY too damn clean!). I hope it goes for another season.

Oh, and as to the remarks about Ed Burns, he created an incredible show. His gift undeniably hints at a future of excellent work.
One review was upset about the cancellation of "Proof," as if that had anything to do with this series and its talented creator, cast and writers.

I don't understand the negative comments about "Public Morals." It has an incredible cast. The writing is very good.
If TNT cancels this show, it not only says much about viewers, but it also speaks volumes about the network itself.
Just when I find something to watch. I hear rumors about cancellation. For me personally I am so tired of reality TV. And this--contrary to a few negative submissions--is an incredible program. Their issue appears to be more about some other cancelled shows.
