A political drama following a Cabinet member who is appointed President after a deadly attack on the Capitol.
After a deadly explosion kills the President and members of the Cabinet on the night of the State of the Union address, the nation is suddenly left without a Commander in Chief.
Tom Kirkman, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, had been named the designated survivor and is therefore the next in the chain of command. He is promptly sworn in as President, though he has no way of knowing that the catastrophic attack was only the beginning of a much larger plan.

Love the show-of course it is left-leaning-it's entertainment! Good story line and writers! Yes, I would like to see his dad on the show too-both good actors.

Yes! I love this show even if it is left-leaning. Have Donald on the show as Keifer's father or uncle or something but he needs to be evil. Donald is good at evil.

As expected out of Hollyweird. Dems are good guys, Reps are bad guys. Maybe they're fielding the idea of acceptance of a single person having total power.... What do they call that again?

Very intriguing show. I have a gut feeling that a Washington insider orchestrated the attack on the Capitol rather than someone from Iran. It would be nice if Kiefer Sutherland's father Donald guest-starred as President Kirkman's father.
