A political drama following a Cabinet member who is appointed President after a deadly attack on the Capitol.
After a deadly explosion kills the President and members of the Cabinet on the night of the State of the Union address, the nation is suddenly left without a Commander in Chief.
Tom Kirkman, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, had been named the designated survivor and is therefore the next in the chain of command. He is promptly sworn in as President, though he has no way of knowing that the catastrophic attack was only the beginning of a much larger plan.

We are equally outraged. It's tough watching these interesting, watchable engaging shows being cancelled! I don't give a flying frisbee about neilsen ratings! Nobody even knows who those people are. I love this show, and also Deception and Timeless, as someone else stated. And they renew For the People which I tried but found nothing there that drew me back.

Surprised it has not been renewed. Great show that is not just about sex and sleeping together. I agree and hope another network picks it up. Big mistake!

I don’t know wht the heck is going on with ABC. You have cancelled all the series I care about on your network: Designated Survivor, Timeless, and Deception. These series are all unique in their own right and totally different from the average series available on regular tv. I prefer to watch the three main networks because I despise the violence and sex that cable channels have to offer. Please let me watch interesting and, with timeless, informative tv that encapsulates humor and heart as well!!!!

Can’t understand why this show was cancelled. One of the best shows on tv at this time. Looked forward to watching each week. Would record if not at home. Disappointed viewer

I have never before commented on the cancellation of a TV show, but this really upsets me! There are so few quality programs with good acting and meaningful subject matter. In this age of conspiracy theories, it makes me wonder who with power may have had influence in this decision. I am very disappointed in ABC.

IMDB - 7.7 Rotten Toms - 76% with 75% Audience. You ppl over there really don't have a clue.... listen to the fans, i've not read one comment commending this cancellation. joke. Again.
