A political drama following a Cabinet member who is appointed President after a deadly attack on the Capitol.
After a deadly explosion kills the President and members of the Cabinet on the night of the State of the Union address, the nation is suddenly left without a Commander in Chief.
Tom Kirkman, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, had been named the designated survivor and is therefore the next in the chain of command. He is promptly sworn in as President, though he has no way of knowing that the catastrophic attack was only the beginning of a much larger plan.

ABC you are unbelievable. You said you canceled Designated Survivor because of creativity. You canceled it because of the type of government we should have and you are afraid of controversy. I believe it is YOU who can’t handle the truth.

Please don't cancel!!! Love this show. It was getting really interesting to see who was undermining him. Remember when NBC cancelled Jag? Big mistake, and thankfully CBS picked it up. The same with Timeless. It is so much better than most of the comedies you show!

I can't believe this show is being cancelled. It has awesome actors/actresses with good story lines. There are far too many silly reality tv shows on these days, which we don't waste our time watching. Why did we spend so many weeks of our time watching this if you decide to cancel it. Not fair to loyal viewers who have enjoyed this. So sad

A show I never missed, well written and the plot was very believable. Maybe the politics or the show were getting to aligned with what is going on in Washington currently.
Can never understand why kill a show with a loyal following only have to try to create a new show and drum up a following for it. Starting at zero never seemed like a good plan.

I know you won't listen to anyone's comments, but it's ridiculous you are canceling this show. I'm not part of you Nielsen ratings, but what a big mistake. Very disappointed in ABC for making this decision ! Please reconsider.
