A drama following a young pitcher who becomes the first woman to play Major League Baseball.

Ginny Baker is a tough and gifted baseball player who achieves instant fame when she is called up to the Major Leagues by the San Diego Padres. As a rookie, Ginny must prove herself to her teammates - some of whom don't even want her on the field.

Although her father did his best to prepare her for this moment, the road ahead for Ginny will not be an easy one as she embarks on a career representing her gender under the glare of the media spotlight.

My hubby, Mom and I LOVE this show!! I concur with everything Anne & Art Bobrick said. Please renew Pitch--it's a terrific show! But please don't move it to the MLB channel, we (like many others) don't get that channel. :-) Pitch deserves another season!

I beg Fox to renew Pitch. My husband and I both watch it, love it and always look forward to watching it. We are involved in the characters at this point and would be heartbroken if Fox cancelled it. Don't put it against Thursday night Football. Pitch is not just about sports but people who like sports would probably chose Football since they don't know that Pitch is not just about sports, but use sports as an entry way to learn about the struggles of the leads. The characters i are compelling and thus we want to know about the evolution of these people who are real and come to life with the excellent talents of Rick Singer and other writers. It would be a powerful statement about Fox if they renew this compelling drama and not just be known for being "conservative" in it's political viewpoints. Please Renew Pitch.

Please don't cancel this show. I love it. It's one of the best series on tv. The actors are awesome. Give it another chance to prove the ratings will increase. They finally found a descent show to watch. Don't mess it up by canceling it. I love it!

Favorite new show and I'm a 69 year old fat white guy. Big baseball fan. Grew up in NYC starting out as a Dodger fan but changed to the Yankees when the Dodgers left. Hope it's renewed. If not maybe it can be moves to the MLB channel.
BTW, there was a movie "Blue Skies Again"(1983) about the 1st woman to make it to the majors. She was white and an infielder (second base). I remember reading that they couldn't find any actresses good enough to be a believable player so they went to the woman's soft circuit. They found it was easier to turn an athlete into an actress than an actress into an athlete.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SHOW! It shows my daughters that if you put in hard work you can achieve even the loftiest of goals. Nothing was handed to Ginny she earned it all! I hope Fox keeps this show going!

Yeah, it would make a good movie.
But once the shock of her intro into the sports limelight wears off, what then? Can they beat the drum about first woman in major league baseball, over and over?
Soon they'll just focus on her relationships with others, romantically, legally, professionally, etc.
That initial theme will have become just a gimmick. Or not.

I have to wonder how long they can drag this out and still retain an audience.
