An anthology drama following one of America's wealthiest and unhappiest families, the Gettys.
Told over multiple seasons spanning the 20th century, this anthology series begins in 1973 with the kidnapping of oil fortune heir John Paul Getty III in Rome.
His kidnappers, the Italian mafia, are expecting a multi-million-dollar ransom. Unfortunately, Paul's grandfather is marooned in the English countryside and his father is lost in a daze in London. Only Paul's mother Gail is left to negotiate with the kidnappers. Unfortunately, she has no money to help.
As the young man endures his nightmarish ordeal, his captors cannot understand why nobody appears to want him back.

Better than the movie, but you must be able to put up with a lot of subtitles. well acted. story concluded but a hint were they looking to do another series around the Getty's after this ordeal.
