A limited series based on the 2019 novel of the same name.

Toby Fleishman is a recently divorced 41-year-old who is experimenting with app-based dating and finding the kind of success he never had before he got married at the end of medical school.

But just as his first summer of freedom is beginning, his ex-wife disappears, leaving him with his two young kids and no idea of where she is or if she'll return.

As he figures out solo parenting, the return of old friends, a potential promotion at the hospital, and no shortage of eligible women in Manhattan make him realize that he'll never be able to figure out what happened to his ex until he can face what happened to their marriage in the first place.

Based on Taffy Brodesser-Akner's bestselling novel.

I have mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, the constant narration got a bit on my nerves, but at the same time, the story and the performances and the pace was interesting enough for me to continue watching. If this were not a limited series, I would have watched Season 2, albeit with a little less narration.

@Curious, he is constantly trying to ascertain her whereabouts, and he did not consider her missing because he was being stonewalled by her assistant, which led him to believe that she is not missing, but rather ignoring him.

Each episode is about 30 min too long. Drawn out, repetitive, unnecessary political innuendos. You’d think if a mother of your children disappeared you’d call in a missing person after let’s say 5 days? Even if you make excuses that’s “she’s done it before”. Not sure if the book translated into series well.
