TLC has renewed popular freshman series Extreme Couponing for a second season of 12 episodes. Production on the new season is already underway, with September slated for its return.

"Extreme Couponing has struck a chord with our viewers and has sparked a passion in people who are looking for creative ways to save money," TLC General Manager Amy Winter told The Hollywood Reporter. "The series is creating even more super shoppers and we are lining our shelves with their remarkable stories."

Extreme Couponing premiered back in April and has thus far been averaging 1.9 million viewers per episode. The show, which follows people who make resourceful use of coupons to buy a lot of stuff for very little money, has two episodes left in its first season - both set to air this week on June 8.
