The Friday night drama will not return for another season.
May 10, 2012
CBS has cancelled freshman drama A Gifted Man, according to Variety. The show was on the air for a full season of 16 episodes, but its modest ratings clearly were not high enough for the network to consider bringing the show back next season.

What is it with Rachelle LeFevre? It seems every time she is affiliated with a show, it goes under. I would also like to know how the Nielsen ratings offer any kind of accuracy for advertisers to depend on, when so many viewers (like me) simply DVR programs for later viewing. That way we can fast forward through commercials; so how much good ARE the ratings anyway?

Very disappointing. A Gifted Man was a great show, but great shows are secondary to that reality crap.

WE SHOULD START A PETITION TO BRING THIS SHOW BACK. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO PLEASE THE VIEWING AUDIENCE. THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE VIEWERS. SHAME ON YOU CBS. I ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU WERE THE PEOPLES STATION. BUT I GUESS I WAS WRONG . GOOD BYE.

THIS SHOW WAS GREAT. THE ACTING WAS INCREDIBLE. I AM VERY SURPRISED AT CBS. THEY ARE USING NBC MENTALITY. IF THIS IS THE QUALITY OF VIEWING THAT YOU WILL BE CANCELLING, I CAN FIND ANOTHER STATION. YOU SHOULD FIRE THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE DECISIONS. IT WAS THE TIME SLOT AND DAY THAY AFFECTED THE RATINGS. I AM TRULY HEARTBROKEN...

I love this show. I think the problem is being on at 7 on Friday nights. When you have kids, you're running them around and usually aren't home then. It was very well written and a good story line. Since I started watching this show, I'm now watching Blue Bloods also

This is a JOKE that a TV station with the Success of CBS can make such a DUMB decision. Stevie Wonder can see that they have a great show and instead of letting the rest of the world catch on they will kill the show. This will cause me to influence me to get as many people I know to stop supporting a station who doesnt support 10 million viewers of a show.

I would have expected this from NBC, but I am shocked and disapointed at CBS doing this. The show was well written and acted.
My wife is really gonna be upset over her favorte Alcatraz getting the ax!

This is ridiculous..CBS keeps cancelling good shows and leaving horrible shows..it just seems like every time a shows comes on CBS I start to like or am interested in it never lasts...about to avoid CBS altogether...

I loved this show...Bad mistake to cancel it. Hate the reality shows..

Very disappointing decision. I agree with all these comments. Too bad you could not see your way clear to consider all of your audience instead of just some of your audience. Too bad you couldn't figure out a way to bring a show back that touches people in a good and decent way and instead continue to renew the crap that remains on TV. Very sad to see this show go!
