Last Resort Cancelled By ABC

The military drama will not continue past its initial order.

November 16, 2012

ABC has cancelled freshman series Last Resort. The military drama will still air all 13 episodes of its original order but will not continue past that.

Since debuting in late September, Last Resort was hailed by many critics as one of the strongest new dramas of the 2012-2013 season, but ratings for the show failed to match up to its critical praise. This past Thursday's episode was its lowest-rated to-date, likely sealing its fate.

I wish they would have had at least 2 more episodes to finish it up. The end seemed very rushed. It was clear the story line would have been hard to continue but they did was great. I wish networks could make good TV like this without being cancelled.

I just finished watching the final episode from the DVR and as the show progressed towards the end I could see that this was the end although I was hoping that somehow the writers would pull a rabbit out of thy're hats to continue the storyline. Sadly this is not the case. I am so disappointed in the network for cancelling one of the the most gripping and interesting shows I've ever seen. I guess it entertaining enough or have enough sexual content. This show had real substance to it to point where it maid you and maybe some people in high places realy go Hmmm!!!!!. But it was an excellent show and I for one am deeply pissed that a quality show like this has to be cancelled when ridiculous reality shows about who's dating who and who is cheating who, with all of the four letter words known to man although beeped are left to poison the airwaves with total stupidity. Shame on you ABC.A sad day in TV, That's all I can say.

This has to be one of the worst moves in tv land. There is so much TRASH on now and they cancel a show that was great and I could wait for the next weeks episode. Another stupid move in TV land.

I think this is really sad. This show had potential for a few good seasons. I dont have the privelage of watching shows when they originally air and my dvr is often full since we have a very large household so i often watch my episodes on hulu or online. With technology today the people who calculate ratings should not just look at who veiws live tv anymore.

This a great show and the characters are just comming into their rolls. ABC has another Star-Trek in the making here, and if they cancel it now, they will be sorry later. Lots of money to be lost on this show if it is cancelled. Put some work into writing some imaginative scripts and this could be a real winner.

I watch this show in the UK and it is one of the best around, please change your minds. This is a GREAT show.

The show presented an interesting plot. While it could be called a fiction it unfortunately raised some questions about people in power distorting the truth with the news media's cooperation and subverting the constitution.

I can see where NBC would never have aired this - unfortunately ABC misses a great show and a lost opportunity to raise a hand.

I don't even see why networks bother introduction complex well written dramas... They'll just cancel them anyway. I really enjoyed this show, but felt it was being crippled by the number of ads and their placement by ABC. ABC would push as many as 7 minutes worth of ad between 4 to 5 minutes of show after the 30 minute mark.
