The military drama will not continue past its initial order.
November 16, 2012
ABC has cancelled freshman series Last Resort. The military drama will still air all 13 episodes of its original order but will not continue past that.
Since debuting in late September, Last Resort was hailed by many critics as one of the strongest new dramas of the 2012-2013 season, but ratings for the show failed to match up to its critical praise. This past Thursday's episode was its lowest-rated to-date, likely sealing its fate.

Great show. Great acting. Direction. Writing. Production. All the ingredients for a cancellation. I'm pissed. There are sooooo many dumb shows being renewed. This one should have been.

My husband and I just got caught up on this show and now we are finding out that it was canceled!!! UGH! We cannot always watch show when it is aired and have to DVR. It is a really good show. I wish they can figure out a different way to count the viewers as I'm sure there are other people who are doing the same thing.

My husband and I also LOVED Last Resort. I am hopeful another network my be smart enough to pick up this show and writers. We loved the show 24 and have been missing the twists and turns of an exciting show until we found Last Resort ..FOX please be smart and pick up this wonderful show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unbelieveable!!!! We loved this show...was the type drama that when the hour was up you just didn't want it to end. I am so disappointed in the network. I too record and watch it via DVR so I can fly through the commercials...perhaps they need to get a newer system for ratings. Most likely though...hits a little too close to home. Great show and will be missed...like others have said, perhaps USA/Fox/etc will pick it up.

This is by far the best new show on TV. Why won't ABC give it a chance? Why won't they promote it? It's amazing how intellectually inferior reality shows can survive but Last Resort is cancelled.

I agree with Carl. I think this show hit too close to home for too many and got the rest of us to thinking: This could happen. and all the while we keep getting more and more garbage

Maybe this show hits to close to home for the current goverment and its left wing nuts. SO ABC was pressured to cancel kind of like Jerico even though it had a fairly large viewer base.

This is a great show. Everyone in my family of 7 watches this show. I agree with others that wrote ABC doesn't give their shows enough time. Maybe ABC should take some clues from CBS. when their show 2 broke girls started off kind of rocky, they changed it up a little and some good advertising now its a great show. Its on the front bumper of almost every NYC bus.
Going to miss this one!!!!

I have to agree with Jeff (posted 12/12/12) that ABC has over and over again started a show that has great originality and superb actors...only to pull the plug after only one season. Why even turn to ABC's offerings if you're never going to see any real reason to keep watching? Give'em a bit more time to pull the ratings up by scheduling changes or perhaps taking some of your reality shows (what garbage!) and putting them in the garbage can ! Maybe USA or TNT could pick this show up !

I liked the show and found it to be fairly original, but it had too many different snippets, conspiracies, lack of character focus on where they stood or developed. Hope they can wrap up the storyline before it ends.
