The Closer will end after its seventh season

The long running crime drama will air its final season in 2011.

TNT has announced that The Closer will wrap production after its seventh season to conclude the series.

Currently in its sixth season, The Closer has been a big success for the network since debuting in 2005. The Kyra Sedgwick-led series will reach its 100th episode during its final season in 2011, which will be comprised of 15 episodes.

Still one of the best shows on basic cable. I understand why Kyra Sedgwick wants to go out at the top, but I am going to miss the entire cast. Incidentally, I believe Basic Cable is getting better and better. Often, I would prefer that the "Summer Shows" stay, and the many of the network shows not return.
