TNT is considering extending the crime drama in some form.
January 24, 2011
Back in December, TNT announced that The Closer would conclude it's run at the end of Season 7. Reports are now coming in that the network may have jumped the gun with this annoucement, and could either add more episodes to the seventh season, or even order a new spinoff series.
If Season 7 is extended, the episode count could raise from 15 to 21. If a new spinoff series is ordered, we could see an existing charter in the show take the lead, in possibly a completely new setting.
While nothing is confirmed at this time, fans of the show will want to stay tuned for official news about the show's future.

Please continue in some form. The characters are likeable and the show is great. Take to a new setting or "promote" to a different division but keep the show going, please!

The Closer is one of the best shows on TV. I can't imagine it not coming back. I would hope that even if some of the actors do not want to continue on, that they could write around that. All the characters and actors in the show are top-notch and so very entertaining no matter who takes the lead in an episode.
