Discovery has ordered another season of the perilous crab fishing series.

Discovery is bringing back Deadliest Catch for an eighth season. The announcement was made today as the network unveiled its 2011-2012 upfront slate.
The series captures all the gripping action of one of the world's most dangerous jobs - Alaskan crab fishing. Season 7 kicked off earlier this week with a two-hour premiere on April 12.

My husband and I have loved Dealiest Catch from day one. We have shared the triumphs and tradegies. We have cried over the loss of Phil, the loss of Jake's beloved sister. We marvel over the stamina of the crews & the peril they go thru daily. We have seen boys grow into men and men into unsung heros. We csn't wait for season 8 to air. Congratulations to Discovery for airing such an acclaimed show and to the film crew who risk their lives bringing the Deadliest Catch to us all.

My husband and I love the Deadliest Catch!!!!! Love the Captains, workers & greenhorns. Would like to know what is going to happen to the Cornelia Marie? Will they also be on this season??? Hope So!!!! Please don't cancel; this is one of the best shows ever!!!!!

just love DC best show ever admire all the fishermen
captains down to the greenhorns
coverage is incredible just sat thru 2 days of reruns on fox and even though viewed before is was still awesome and with the temp here in melbourne australia soaring to over 40Cel it is hard to imagine how cold it is in the baring strait
keep warm and safe you all deserve to have great fishing

Keep Deadliest Catch on the air, it is one of the best on TV, real life reality. These fishermen become like family, they do an amazingly tough job.

deadliest catch is by far the best show on the discovery channel besides the pawn stars. please bring it back for 2012. miss all the guys on the show.

I love this show. Each boat has something unique to offer. Looking forward to seeing it in 2012.
