As expected, the superhero drama will not return.
May 13, 2011
ABC has cancelled No Ordinary Family along with six of its other shows in a barrage of moves by the network today. Also gone are Brothers & Sisters, V, Off the Map, Better With You, Mr. Sunshine, and Detroit 1-8-7.
The writing has been on the wall for quite some time regarding the superhero drama. After failing to impress in the ratings early in its run, the network cut No Ordinary Family's freshman season short in February, and even preempted its second-last new episode, only to air it on a Saturday with no promotion.
The final nail in the coffin came when its two lead stars signed on to new fall pilot shows on another network. Michael Chiklis booked a role on a new CBS comedy pilot called Vince Uncensored, while co-star Julie Benz joined an untitled CBS supernatural medical drama. The cast also took to Twitter after filming wrapped to say their final goodbyes.

I added this entire season to our NetFlix instant queue, and my wife watched the first 4 episodes on Friday (yesterday).
Last night, and then all day today (Saturday December 10th, first really cold day of the coming winter in upstate New York) we both watched all the rest together on NetFlix via our TiVo Premiere. I said we would do research to find out about Season 2 only AFTER watching all the episodes of Season 1.
EXCELLENT show, I cannot believe it won't be on again. We honestly don't know how we missed seeing it when it was aired on ABC...
Again, we both LOVED this program -- the last episode was definitely a Cliffhanger. ABC (or any network) should bring this show back. Does anyone track how many times programs are watched on NetFlix??

I saw this on Netflix and in just a few days I had watched the entire first season and I LOVE THIS SHOW! I didn't even know it was on. I saw very little play about it. Please, you have to bring it back! You have a great fan base going here. ask Stan Lee if all of his comics took off after a month of being published. Advertise a bit more, stop putting out all the lame reality tv shows. Bring back No Ordinary Family. You can't leave us hanging!

I think the issue was not that the show was bad but , that it was not promoted enough. My kids loved the show and so does my wife, we watched the whole first season in 3 days via netflix. OMG the last episode had me thinking of a new fantastic four. I really hope ABC can bring it back one day...

Abc u should be ashamed of yourselves how dare you tease us with a good show like no ordinary family left it in a cliffhanger then you cancel it. In opinion you should have least gave season 2 of no ordinary family a chance you have to explain the story then the action begin dont you think. Thats how the majority of all superhero comics, movies, etc. began. You guys really had something good going its a shame it seems like no one even gave it a chance for the story to clear its throat. Please consider giving it a second chance all of us superhero fans are looking up for someone to carry the torch "Smallville" passed away. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!

why did you cancel "no ordinary family" and "off the map", those were my two favorite shows and they were awesome shows and the way they were left off wasn't fair. I really wish you would bring the two shows back.
