The CW has renewed spy series Nikita for a second season. The show has been a relatively strong performer for the network, and even back in February co-star Melinda Clarke expressed her optimism for a renewal.

Nikita got off to an impressive start out of the gate, with its debut matching The CW’s all-time best ratings in the Thursday 9-10:00pm time slot among women 18-34. While dropping off slightly over the course of the season - normal for most shows on any network - it managed to hold a good portion of its audience through to its finale on May 12.
