One episode of the medical drama will go unaired.
August 24, 2011
ABC has announced that the first-season finale of Combat Hospital has been moved up one week from September 13 to September 6. What this means for its fans is that one episode of the freshman medical drama will go unaired on the network.
The move also doesn't bode well for the future of the show - on US shores at least. Combat Hospital is a Canadian-produced series that also airs on Global Television in Canada. If ABC opts not to move forward with a second season of the show, it is quite possible that Global will pick it up.
A similar situation happened with drama The Listener, which NBC originally started airing for a Summer run in 2009, only to pull it from the schedule after a handful of episodes. The series continued on Canadian airwaves and was recently renewed for a third season.
As it stands, the future of Combat Hospital is unknown at this time, but ABC's decision to leave an episode of its first season on the shelf puts chances of a second one in serious doubt.

I think it is a great show to have because it is one of the few shows to be about the army and showing them in the field. We get a small feel of how some of them are in the military. I like it really well but maybe should add a little more action in it and it would get people to watching it more.

I had never heard of this show until today when I was flipping through the on-demand trying to find something new to watch. All they had to show was the very last episode. Maybe it because they didn't have all the prior episodes to watch to get me hooked I don't know but I found this show to be slow and boring the only concept I found fun to watch was with Dr. Simon and the girl. I can see why this show might not get picked back up. It needs more action not only in during combat situations but more life from the actors themselves.

Well. Looks like they did it again. I got all hooked on Off the Map, only to have it cancelled just as it was getting good. This was the show they replaced it with. Same show, different geography. I made a point to boycott this one. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice,....

Rushed home always to catch the show, was wondering what had happened. Hope it returns. Got movie line, and believe me, I should know.

When it seems the rest of the world has forgotten our true heroes, this show gives honor to the men and women in harm's way, fighting the war on terrorism. This is a program our teenagers even recorded weekly...we watched it as a family and it meant alot to us, since we are a military family. Too much garbage on the networks, this was a breath of fresh air. Please listen to the ones who still enjoy family programming. Thanks!

It would be a shame if they cancelled this show. They did in the fine police procedural Detriot 187 in favor of Dana Delaney channelling Quincy. This and the crap passing as entertainment on the airwaves is proof that television as a medium is dying.

I hope they don't cancel this show! I love it! I am sick of mind numbing reality shows! Not everyone is "entertained" by the garbage, and Combat Hospital was definitely a step above most of all the other programs we are forced to NOT watch!
