The network has pulled its remaining episodes from its schedule.
May 11, 2012
It is a sad day for fans of NBC's Awake. The network has cancelled the freshman drama. Only 11 of the show's 13 planned episodes have aired, but the remaining two are still on the schedule for the next two Thursdays.
Awake has had an up-hill battle since premiering as a mid-season replacement back in March. Its plot contained sci-fi elements, was rather intricate at times, and required dedicated weekly viewing in order to keep up with its running storylines. Unfortunately it didn't find enough of an audience for the network to go forward with it, however the fans it did have were passionate about the show's quality and uniqueness.

It's unfortunate that smart TV just doesn't seem to have a place on the air anymore. There is so much to love about this show, I think the network sold it short.

Horrible decision not renewing this show. You keep trashy mind numbing tv shows instead of shows like this one. What does this say about tv watchers as a whole when you get rid of shows that ask you to use your brain and pay attention when watching...so lame.

Horrible decision NBC. This is the only show I watched on your pathetic network. And SNF. Obviously Awake requires more thinking than the average TV exec is capable of...

At this point I don't want to watch any new shows that NBC puts out because they are just gonna cancel them anyway. So, NBC, just keep renewing the same old crap and good luck to you.

Its so sad that crap like Jersey Shore gets renewed & the sitcoms are not even funny anymore but good shows that make you think .... like this one gets cancelled. Its ridicilus.

I liked Awake,Alcatraz and the Finder.
Money is the bottom line and so called "reality" crap is cheap to make.
What annoys me most is that they start the shows at all. Just go to all low life reality and be done;then I'll read even more books and shut tv off entirely.

I can't believe Awake is going to be cancelled. I know why they've been dragging out the conspiracy of who's responsible for the accicdent(to get into another season) but the episodes have been great with alot of great plots (like the wife wanting to move & it was implied that the serial killer they didn't catch was going to stalk the wife in the city where they moved later on in the season (or in the 2nd season). There were lots of interesting twists & "mind" games played. I loved every character & wish there was some way to change the minds of the "powers that be". Theres so much garbage on TV & to take a great show like this off the air is terrible. I'm not watching anymore sitcoms!

Are you serious?!? It's so annoying to become engrossed in a neat and complicated story line only to have it end before any real answers are given. NBC owes it to this unique and engaging show to do a "wrap up" episode to answer questions and let it have an "ending". I'm not sure who makes the decisions about what gets cancelled and what doesn't, but this happens way to often. Very very annoying!
