Sarah Michelle Gellar's latest project will not return.
May 11, 2012
The CW has cancelled Ringer after one season. The freshman drama was Sarah Michelle Gellar's latest venture back to television, but fell short of the success earned from her last successful series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which ran for seven years.
Things looked good when Ringer first premiered last September. It was the first new series on The CW to receive a full season pick up, giving the series hope for a bright future. Ratings, however, took a turn for the worse - along with many other shows on the network, it should be noted - and fell to the 0.4-0.5 range among adults 18-49 for the second half of the season.
The network obviously couldn't justify renewing the series at its current viewership level, even given the star power of Gellar, who has her own legion of dedicated fans.

Ringer is by far the best show that CW had going. I enjoy other shows on CW but Ringer quickly became my favorite. And I agree with other posts, I never knew when it was going to be on. I was thankful for DVR keeping track of it. I am ready to boycott CW completely because they do this all the time. Never give new shows the chance they need to prove themselves.

I agree with Nathaniel Ringer was to good to be on the CW. I hope another station picks it up. Ringer has to be the best show going right now. The CW doesn't deserve it if they don't know what they have. Way to go Sarah Michelle!!!!

I cannot believe this is canceled. Reality shows and poor storyline shows such as 90210 should be canceled. I agree with an earlier post, if the show had a regular time slot it would have a following, as it was I had to watch off of DVR because thankfully my TV tracked the show because the CW never had Ringer on a regular time.

Of course it had viewers at first & fell short, no one ever knew when it was gonna be on because it wasn't on regularly. That might have helpped but you never have it a chance.

DON'T CANCEL RINGER! I don't understand how a show like 90210 can make it but a show like Ringer with an excellent cast, storyline and writing can be cancelled.

Heroes, Ringer, Secret Circle and not to mention many other shows. Whats the point in watching this network if they continue to do this to viewers? Did these shows scare off the Christian Sunday church goers? I pay for Cable who doesn't now these days. I should be able to demand what the heck I want my eyes to see... This is not your choice, I am forced to bend my knees because you own the stupid CW.
