The Showtime comedy's upcoming season will be its last.
June 13, 2012
Showtime is concluding comedy Weeds after eight seasons on the air. Since premiering in 2005, the series has had a successful run on the network, helping to lay the groundwork for other edgy cable comedies that followed it.
The show's final season premieres on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 10:00pm. Fans can expect a quick resolution to this year's assassination attempt cliffhanger, as well as a time jump and a return to the suburbs.

I just finished watching season eight, because we did not have cable. For the past two months my wife and I have been watching episode after episode (sometimes multiple episodes in one day), and to end it, sucked. To all of you who thought it started to get boring or slutty, I take it you like watching all the BS reality shows such as Toddlers and Tieras, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, or any Kardashian Krap to say the least. Weeds was supposed to be a comedy with a twist and that it was! We have enjoyed watching every episode, and deplore Showtime for cancelling the show.

N-n-n-nooooooooo! It can't be over already!! I know it's been 8 seasons but with only 10 to 12 episodes per season that's barely 5 seasons!! There's still so much to tell! Sure things got crazy and SEEMED unrealistic but (as crazy as this may sound) Nancy was an inspiration to me. I'm a single mother with my own business trying to make ends meet, who finds myself in the most awkward, weird, unrealistic, what the **** situations all the time. To watch Nancy strive forward no matter what, and take on the challenges in her life so she could do what she thought was best for her family, was not only motivating but also reassuring and liberating! She spent 3 years in jail for her son for crying out loud!! If that's not a mother's love, I don't know what is. These predicaments only seem unrealistic for those that live mundane lives. Trust me people all kinds of **** happens. And as far as the random sex episodes that made her seem slutty. Sometimes life gets so crazy and you're dealing with so much crap you just have to say "eff it" and eff somebody. I'm gonna miss Weeds. Damn....

So much absolute CRAP on tv, it only figures that network pinheads dump shows like Weeds to replace them with road-kill reality programming with no production value. Think I'm going to keep watching Showtime? When you cancel my favorite shows I can't wait to drop my now totally worthless cable service. Goodbye weeds goodbye Showtime.

Love Weeds. Watching Nancy makes me feel my life is better than it sometimes feels.

I became a fan of the show around season 5, but when I watched some earlier seasons such as 2,3,&4.I thought that it was really good compared to season 5&6.Nancy's carractar did start acting like a huge whore, like with an episode in season 6 where Nancy met that hot bartender while they were living in that RV neighborhood to start a new for her family. She ended up having sex with the bartender right in his bar. Then acted as if it wasn't her fault once she found out the his had a wife and kids. But I am a little behind and have to start catching up on season 7 before season 8 begins. Let's just wait and see how the 8th season plays out. Hopefully it gets better because the young boys do have a promising career in acting.

I totally agree with Jesse- I wasn’t interested for a few seasons, but then I started watching again and I really thought the show would have ended a couple seasons back. I think I stopped watching the season before Shane killed the drug lord woman (I think her name was Pilar?). I also agree with Sam's comment- the character of Nancy was getting too trashy and over the top.
It’s like it went from “Oh cool she sells weed LOL!†to “WTH is she doing?†Some examples are: Last season when she had sex with that woman she met in prison, then minutes later jumped in bed & did the same with the woman’s brother-that was just nasty!
One son got shot because of her lifestyle
The other was lied to for years about who his father was
Her kids got dragged around the world running from problems she created- the list goes on and on. Also, and maybe it's just me but a lot of times her attitude and actions conveyed "It's all about Nancy" and the character was becoming annoying to me.
I know it's just a show and crazy twisted storylines make interesting TV but it was just getting to be a bit much.

OMG! finally I can't even begin to say, I am happy it is over. I was a Weeds fan for a long time, and stuck through those horrible seasons. I watched it faithfully every Sunday night hoping it would get better, instead it just got worse. Honestly after season 6 I thought Showtime would cancel it.what I can't figure out is why they didn't get new writers for the series, or fire Jenji Kohan. "Weeds " has been off track since season 5. She never should have left the suburbs. I guess what I really don't like about the show is that Mary- Louis - Parker's character, ended up looking like Poor white trash.

At least they're going into this season knowing its the last. Weeds got crappy for a few seasons, but brought my interest back last season but I was pretty sure it was over after 6, and then again after season 7. Season 7's end could have been conclusion (not a very good one though)but I don't think the writers wrote it with the idea of being done, and least now that the plug is being pulled, we can have a proper ending in the works that doesn't kill off our main characters, which I think is a really lazy and uncreative way to end anything.
