AMC has decided not to renew the crime drama.
July 27, 2012
AMC has cancelled The Killing after two seasons. Over the course of its run, the crime drama followed the events after the murder of a young Seattle girl, with each episode representing one day in the investigation. Thankfully for fans of the show, the murder was solved at the end of Season 2.
"After much deliberation, we've come to the difficult decision not to renew 'The Killing' for a third season," the network said in an issued statement. "AMC is incredibly proud of the show and is fortunate to have worked with such a talented team on this project, from showrunner Veena Sud and our terrific partners at Fox Television Studios to the talented, dedicated crew and exceptional cast."

Agree with Laurence and Ernie--love what AMC is putting out--Falling Skies, the Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, which is my ultimate favorite--fantastic shows--fantastic writing. I am loving this network!

I completely agree with Laurence - Great show that came to its end. I'm not sure any further cases/stories would take the franchise anywhere but a hollow shell of what this series was. Glad to leave it on a high note and completed.

I was disappointed when my son told me that The Killing was cancelled. It was one of the best shows on TV with great actors, directors and producers. I cannot believe how all the trash remains on TV especially all the Reality shows and they always cancel the good ones. Marielle Enos and Joel Kinnaman were very realistic Detectives. Please reconsider.

Great, kill another great show with good direction, good production, and great cast dynamics. Let's see....maybe we could replace it with a mindless reality series....Yeah that's the ticket! Everyone knows most Americans Love reality shows....SHEESH AMC, let me send you a dollar to buy a clue. At the very least replace it with something worthwhile watching.

Very disappointed that "The Killing" has been canceled.
Loved the two main characters and was hoping to see them solve more crimes together as well as see how their characters develop. Joel Kinnaman was terrific and so was Mireille Enos. Seems like there was a lot more to come with that combination. When will we see them again?

This was a very good show, I certainly hope AMC replaces The Killing with another scripted television show and NOT something like small town security! AMC remember "Story matters" please stay away from the cancer that is reality tv!

Honestly does anyone have an attention span anymore. Can't handle another murder story line? The show is like any other of those other great shows mentioned on AMC. A TV series is about character development and great acting not just the murder mystery. If you find that boring, you are really missing out on what makes a TV show great. Rubicon was another great show that fell prey to this dynamic. Put down your smart phones, stop blogging and pay attention!!

Seriously you are not going to watch AMC shows anymore are you crazy? This show was good and all but there are still The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Hell on Wheels, and Mad
Men.
