The military drama will not continue past its initial order.
November 16, 2012
ABC has cancelled freshman series Last Resort. The military drama will still air all 13 episodes of its original order but will not continue past that.
Since debuting in late September, Last Resort was hailed by many critics as one of the strongest new dramas of the 2012-2013 season, but ratings for the show failed to match up to its critical praise. This past Thursday's episode was its lowest-rated to-date, likely sealing its fate.

I am so glad this show is cancelled! What a piece of crap! Andre is a terrible actor! Scott is better than him as a Captain! The entire show is a complete mess! Right after the first episode, everything went downhill. It was boring after the fourth one! Give me a break! Who wrote this garbage? And I wonder why I don't have a job in Hollywood!!!

Ditto to most comments here. I enjoy this show and looked forward to what was next. I am no fan of the networks or their leaders--I am getting very close to not watching TV after multiple disappointments of my shows being canceled before 1st season is over. I STILL miss shows like the Threat Matrix, V, and Flash Forward but it is obvious that the networks don't care what we want. Not sure where they get their info--I have never been asked to tell anyone what I watch. Sadly I also doubt that anyone from the networks read these comments.

I figured it was done after the first episode. The premise of the show drew me in for the pilot, but lost me by the end of the episode. The show just didn't make sense. They looked like they were trying too hard, and being able to broadcast to the world their case from that island pretty much gave away the rest of the show. Meh, I knew it wasn't going to last.

I agree with most that has been posted. I too am very sick of networks putting on a good show, have the typical cliff-hanger season finale, then cancel the series, and we NEVER know how the story ends. Now take Eureka, for example, a great show, but they ended it in the story line, not leaving us with a cliff-hanger, and an unknown ending. I hated to see it go, but at least they gave it an ending, not a cliff-hanger! I agree with Rob. Why keep crap like the Kardashians, and ax really good shows. Why do I have to watch stupidity on TV, when I could be watching something really interesting? Oh wait, that's right, IDIOTS are making our viewing choices. How about we dump those idiots and get some people in the right places, so that we; the viewing public can watch interesting TV instead of crap!!!

Here we go again I knew it would be canceled. Why??? because I liked it. Since they are going to run with all shows already filmed dont you think they could add another five minutes to the end giving us a good ending instead of letting us hang their with no closure. Again no respect from the networks given to their loyal watchers, really sucks. MKL Love this sight hope it never gets canceled.

seriously give up! I'm going to take an earlier commenters tack and only watch once it gets to episode 6-7 and I know if its going to be renewed or not!!!!

Seriously ??? This show is great.... Not to mention some of the other shows getting the axe !! They will kill these shows but keep crap like the "kardashians" on the air

Have you ever wondered about the coincidence (or not) between shows that are canceled after the 1st season, and one of the main story lines is domestic terrorism /conspiracy to take over the world??...some examples: FlashForward, Last Resort, Jerico...and if you put your minds to it, I bet you'll find many more... i am not expecting revolution to stay on for that long as well, sadly(or maybe I just watch to much TV!)
Anyway...can you blame people for not wanting to see something they wish never to happen...

I started recording promising new shows, but I don't watch ANY EPISODES until I find out if its getting renewed.
I do this because I got sick of shows I loved like "V" and "Jericho" getting cancelled and leaving me with a cliffhanger ending that never gets resolved.
I did my part to bring Jericho back for a second, short season (Nuts!) but that was a one time thing.
If they could make the decision to keep or kill a show before filming ends, at least most shows could get a decent ending. But since they don't, I won't watch a season 1 anymore.
And last but not least, anyone whining about "stupid reality shows" or "show X sucks and got renewed, but this show is great and it didn't" need to drink a big glass of STFU. Like voting for president, there are winners and losers. Your show lost. Don't cry about it, it just makes you look like a whiner.
