It is being reported that BBC series Merlin, which airs on Syfy in the United States, has been cancelled after five seasons. The show will air its last episode in the UK this coming December, while the show's fifth and final season will premiere stateside on January 4, 2013.

Darn u Syfy! We won't see the young dragon come of age nor see Arthur discover Merlin is a wizard...Just kidding-- Merlin reveals himself @ end of S05. There will be NO season 6 in BBC, Mr Dickinson--Executive producers are leaving and pulling the plug. Season five has been lacking--Morgana has complete control of Guinevere.

Ahhhh!!!!! NO!!!!! This cannot be happening! I thought they bought 2 seasons ahead of time due to their huge ratings?? I totally do not understand this!!!
