The sci-fi series will not be renewed for a third season.
January 17, 2013
Science fiction drama Alphas will not be returning for a third season. Syfy has decided not to continue with the low-rated series, ending it after 24 episodes and with an unresolved cliffhanger from its last episode on October 22, 2012.

To cancel this show after leaving us with a big cliff hanger ending is not right. No series should be allowed to end without giving us a proper ending. If they are not sure of returning by the filming of the last show a alternate ending needs to be filmed to use if it is canceled. Again mucky muck network big shots do not give a rats patute what we think. Hard not to use cuss words. So all you mucky mucks smoking crack and not giving any thought to your loyal audiance kiss my rosie behind. MKL

I only watched the first few episodes of this and then stopped watching as I new it would only be a matter of time before it was canceled. Another cheap X-men knock off bites the dust. Surprised it got a second season frankly.

"A little common sense" would be for The Nielsen box to be updated because I've never seem one also another person mentioned not knowing anyone who has one. A few years ago I got to fill out papers for Nielsen rating telling them everything I watched and so on and never heard from them again and was never given a "box". Since I don't have a box that means anything I look at doesn't counts at all right? It's not our fault that our views are not counted if we don't have a box. I'm gonna find out how to get one because selecting a few people is not gonna give you an accurated rating in my opinion.

I'm sad to see it go, but c'mon people: entertainment television is a freakin' business. And when a show fails to turn a profit, it gets canned. Alphas was fun, but its ratings always sucked. They're lucky it got a second season.
When SyFy has a series, a SCIFI series, that does well, they keep it around. Happened with Battlestar Galactica, Eureka, Warehouse 13...and they are CONSTANTLY premiering new shows that other networks wouldn't give a chance.
I'm gonna miss Alphas, but try adding a little common sense to your bitchfests.

Ghost hunters have not found shit in eight seasons but they get renewed for a ninth season but alphas gets canned? what do you expect from a network that thinks wrestling is a good show.
