Canadian war drama Bomb Girls has been cancelled by Shaw Media after two seasons. The network has opted not to continue with the series, but did announce a two-hour TV movie to wrap things up for fans of the show.
Regular episodes in the show's second season will end on April 29, 2013. The 2-hour movie is slated to premiere in winter 2014 on Global Television, and will conclude the ongoing storylines.
UPDATE: The special 2-hour movie, Bomb Girls: Facing the Enemy, will air on Monday, May 26, 2014 at 9:00pm ET / 6:00pm PT on REELZ Channel.

Arctic air is a cheap schedule filler as those taking part are more interested in fluffing their egos. Bomb girls actually took some thought and planning.

It really is a shame this show has gone. So many people are totally ignorant of what happened during WWII, despite it being less than 80 years ago.

Bomb Girls is a great show. My mother lived through this era and the show gives Canadian history to the youth today. I am sorry to see it ending as I think it was finally getting its footing. Will agree with the other comment of "back to American TV"!!!!!

Hate to see it go. they are nuts to do a movie so long after they killed the series. But what can you expect from network mucky mucks, they just keep doing their thing. MKL

All of these tv series end up on dvd as people like me collect them. Thank god i found this site as it prevents me from buying a new tv series that just happened to be cancelled as no one would know when buying the boxset. I found bomb girls slow paced but it was bound to improve had it got a chance to. Just another tv series cancelled as so many are now days.

This was really a great show ..Kind of off the beaten path. I just happened to stumble on it and have watched both seasons now..Sorry to see it go.. And a year and a half till the movie, Winter 2014.. By then this show will be forgotton about... Good Luck

First of Roy - It's BOMB girls not Bombing Girls. Have you even watched the show? I think not.
Why do people insist on commenting on things they have neither seen or heard of. Nothing better to do??
It is a slow moving show and I enjoy it. I usually prefer something a bit faster paced but I like that each character has a distinct background, story to tell and secrets to hide.
I hope they at least give a happy ending to some of the characters at least. Maybe catch up with them when they're old see how life post war panned out for them.
That said anything beats reality show after reality show. Seriously cheap television for the mindless, braindead and shallow idiots on this planet.

Just looking through the shows listed - not another one worth watching - Boo to you global - I guess it's back to watching whatever I can find on American TV. And you wonder why CRTC!!!

Iam so shocked and disappointed that this show is being cancelled. I don't watch a lot of TV but I don't miss an episode of BOMB Girls. So typical of Canadian Media - do something well and then cancel it for some more second and third rate crap. Shame Shame on you SHAW and GLOBAL.

I am in utter shock, Global, you have created a golden goose egg here and you willingly smash it against a brick wall?! Why? Bomb Girls has fans in the US, the UK and Australia, not to mention Canada, and for many people such as myself it brought me back to Global, this decision does not make any sense whatsoever. A movie is not enough...you have too much material to work with here and this show deserves to live on as an exemplary example of quality Canadian television programing. It brings a whole era of Canadian history back to a modern generation, you had a good thing going here...why are you sabotaging it? Why?
