Production has shut down on the new comedy.
January 28, 2014
It is being reported that NBC has cancelled Sean Saves The World, stopping all production on the show today. The freshman comedy has struggled in the ratings since its premiere last October, failing to find an audience in its Thursday night time slot.
A total of 18 episodes were ordered by the network, 14 of which have already been shot. The show is currently twelve episodes into its run, and it is possible that the remaining two will be aired once the upcoming Olympics are over.

I'm shocked there are some people that didn't see this coming...

I don't know, Tire, Big Bang has a lot of those "silly deceptions" and it's a monster hit. I think that's just a sitcom thing. As for this show, it was merely OK. IMHO The new Michael J. Fox vehicle is HORRIBLE and way worse than this. How has THAT survived more than half a season? Tell me that...

That sucks. I thought the show was funny. They alway cancel the good ones. But Brooklyn nine nine is still on. Go figure!

It was a funny show, naturally it was going to be cancelled. Let's hope for another idiotic "reality" show so the average IQ of Americans can drop another few points.

I think it's less the fault of the "alternative lifestyle" issue than the halfhearted 50's sitcom plots. The stories all seem to involve a silly deception that could be easily resolved with 1% of the effort needed to keep the ruse going.
This sort of comedy died 30 years ago, and it's not coming back.

What took so long, NBC? Have a special episode count in the contract you had to meet like the (equally bad) Michael J Fox contract?

I think the show is hilarious! I'm sad they've cancelled it.

Too bad because I love Sean Hayes. Hope he returns in another show.
