CBS announced today that TV's most-watched comedy, The Big Bang Theory, has been renewed for three additional years. The news means that the hit show, which has already been on the air for over six years, will run through at least the 2016-2017 television season.

So, we've got Sheldon and Amy making some timid headway (I hope Sheldon knows that if Amy agrees to marry him, he'll HAVE to have sex with her.) Room for great comedy there! Also, even though Lucille Ball broke most of the ground in the 50's/60's, I expect some very good "Pregnancy Humor" to be coming down the pike.

I love TBBT and still laugh at episodes I've seen half a dozen times. I only hope that CBS remembers that this fine ensemble is much more than the three principals (who got a million per episode plus back-end). Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar are every bit as important, and this show only got seriously GREAT with the additions of Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik (sooo freaking good)! Hell, Kevin Sussman is great, too. I wish them all the best!

These type of generous renewals often come with the "Hollywood Curse" and, unfortunately, an important member of the cast passes away before the renewal window has elapsed.
I'm just saying. Some kind of weird universe checks and balances thing. Personally, I love Big Bang. I have sent an interoffice memo to the studio, telling them about the curse, but you know they already know all about it. They just think it's superstition. It's more complicated than that. It's like giving a new rock band too much of a free ride and they end up partying themselves to death. Different factors. You're tempting fate by saying "We're all meeting here to act for sure in these next three years."
Life is messier than that.
But, I'm all for its long run.
It's others' continuation that allude me... Molly, Broke Girls, How I Met Your Mother, 2 and half Men, Hawaii 5-0, Elementary.... If you watch PBS's SHERLOCK, you will won't be able to suffer Elementary.
Though Lucy Liu is woman after my own heart.
Congrats, Big Bang. And a big hug to Bob Newhart!

Yes! I love this how.How I Met Your Mother did not know when to quit. It should have quit 2 years a go.

Nice! I like knowing this. Plus it gives the writers a chance to write some longer story arches too!

You're a hit we get it...but know when to quit. Seinfeld and MASH....they weren't greedy. Appreciate your quality rather than quantity.
