There will be no season 4 for the crime drama.
August 28, 2014
A&E has cancelled Longmire after three seasons on the air. Premiering in 2012, the crime drama went on to become the cable network's most-watched original drama ever, amassing a sizable and loyal fanbase.
While its third-season ratings were down from previous years, it is not clear if that was the reason for the show's cancellation. It is being reported that its production company, Warner Horizon, will be shopping the series to other networks.

Longmire is the only show worth watching on A&E and it's cancelled. I guess this is it for A&E and me.

We see so many actors on talk shows when asked they admit they do not watch the show they are in. So this poses the question, the station leader mucky mucks who decide what we watch, how many of them watch their own shows, do they just read off paper the ratings and never think of who really is watching??? Those mucky muck station leaders need to get their head out of their #$*& and ree think dropping this show. Sell it give it away to another network but it stays on the air. So many dedicated hard working smart intelligent witty people who have family's to care for are now out of a job. This is not acceptable to me and it appears a lot of other people feel the same. We need a reasonable solution to keep shows like this on the air. There I feel better now that I have taken my frustration out by typing this message. MKL

And another great show bites the dust. The networks leave on all the mind numbing reality shows that are not reality, but cancel the great shows. Naked in the Woods is still on and a show like Longmire gets canceled. I sure hope that some other network shows some smarts and picks it up.

I can't believe Longmire is cancelled. I might be older but still have a lot of years to watch TV! Please let another network pick this one up. It was a fabulous 3rd season and when it ended - already couldn's wait for next year.

The only show we watch on A & E is Longmire, and now you cancel it. Guess there will be no more A & E watched at our house. TV has gotten to be so dumb all it takes is a bunch of idiots to write a script anymore.

We have our heads filled with diplomas, our pockets and banks filled with disposable income and nary an intelligent show left on what used to be called the Arts & Entertainment network. Congratulations to your numbers crew who clearly miscalculated the strength of a particularly smart & well developed script in Longmire, with a back story of Native American history. Such a welcome change over non-reality shows. We understand why you like them, but they're not what you think. Not art, not entertainment...just bring back Longmire and more TV like it.

Seriously? One of the best shows on TV and you're cancelling? Cancel some of the garbage and reality shows which are no way REAL! I'll turn from tv to BOOKS! Whoever made this decision at A&E should be FIRED.
