The Broadchurch remake will not return.
December 15, 2014
It is being reported that FOX has cancelled Gracepoint after its first season. The mystery drama, which is a remake of the U.K.'s Broadchurch, failed to find an audience on U.S. shores over the course of its 10-episode run.

I agree that I am not tore up because the way Fox publicized it, it was only 10 episodes. Which, I waited till I had all 10 DVR'd and watched back to back, it was so awesome. I was mad though that the husband of that female detective was a "pedophile". But then I was left wondering, A) was danny a honey trap and he knew it and B) Were her son and Danny in a "relationship"? So many un answered questions. I am so going to watch the BBC version. YAY!

I absolutely loved the show, but I too was under the impression that it was to be a special 10 episode type mini-series and there was not to be a second season, so I was a bit perplexed when they left us hanging at the end. It left it as if there would be more. Very confusing. Makes me think that FOX wanted to call it a 10 episode only mini-series, but was also waiting to see the numbers to maybe change their minds and then have other seasons. Who knows - either way, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it and the ending left us quite shocked and surprised. All in all great entertainment.

Yes like I said before it didn't get renewed here in the states, but in did in England and glad to see David Tennant coming back!

I had heard great things about Broadchurch, so I decided to watch this American reboot instead. After the first show, I thought, "This must get better...." After the second episode, I changed my stance. I should have just tried Broadchurch instead of taking the lazy man's way out. David Tennant did a very good job in it, however.

yes it was a one and done series but to those who actually watched it will know it was left opened at the end for another season. the sad part is that it was a great show but people no longer have the ability to follow through with things and see them to the end. people want loud, fast and in your face not well written thought out drama.

Under the Dome was only supposed to be mini series but had a great audience so they ordered more. Just like Broadchurch in England, they are going to have a new story. Gracepoint never grabbed on here in America, if it had, we would be seeing a second series or "event"

I loved Broadchurch and am stunned out how much less suspenseful and gripping the American version came across, even with a good cast. Rewatch the scenes where they first tell the family that it was there son, when they tell the family who did it, and when they reveal the killer to the killer's spouse. Super emotional scenes in Broadchurch but not at all in Gracepoint. And what a stupid twist at the end of Gracepoint. I don't see how the second season of Broadchurch will work, but I will give it a try.

I know it a good series, but there is no north americans audiences to watch the series, this is why not bothering going for the second season. But in England they just renew Broadchurch for the second season coming this spring.

It didn't get canceled. It ended. It was a miniseries. It was only intended to last one season.
