It is being reported that Showtime has renewed Shameless for a sixth season. The news was announced earlier today by Showtime president David Nevis at the Television Critic's Association's winter press tour.
The cable network has ordered 12 episodes for Season 6, which is expected to air in early 2016.

I watched both the UK and US versions. Have to say the US one is better. This show, should really win awards. But goes under the radar.

Glad show as renewed. Hope to see more of Frank this season. Did not care for Fiona becoming just as bad as Frank last season but I think this season is going to be better.

I've never seen the British version,but I've read that people who have watched both versions prefer the US show.

Fab news I love this show. Matt - yes it is worth checking out, I heard about the UK show but never saw it heard they were making a US version and was hooked from the first episode. William H Macy is brilliant, and so are the rest of the cast too.

one of the best shows on tv. A rare mix of comedy and drama without being predictable and boring or watered down to meet network censorship. Thanks Showtime.
