The veteran drama extends its impressive run.

Showtime announced today during their TCA presentation that Shameless has been renewed for a tenth season. The pickup, which comes in the midst of Season 9, extends the cable drama's already-impressive run, which recently surpassed the 100-episode milestone.
The cable network's longest-running series, Shameless continues to be creatively strong and draw solid viewership. Though after eight years on the air, its typically-consistent audience numbers could be showing signs of weakening. Multiple episodes this season have garnered less than 1 million viewers for the first time in its history.
William H. Macy stars in Shameless as a deadbeat alcoholic father of six children. He survives by relying on unlawful schemes while leaving his kids to fend for themselves. Long-time regular cast member Emmy Rossum will be leaving the series after Season 9, though the rest of the cast will be staying on.
Look for Season 10 of Shameless to premiere in late 2019.

Love this show. No matter what happens frank is alway defending his family. They may fight with each other but the love for each other is so strong.

Side question, What happened to Kev's son with V's mom? He spent this season trying to adopt a son but doesn't he already have one?

I still love the show, even with some characters on and off the show doing other projects its still really good. I really like seeing Katey Sagal on this season. With Liam getting older and being bi-racial, I think that could lead to some really great storylines. As much as I hate seeing the downfall to Fiona, that also makes for great storylines for her character and emphasizes the shows name "shameless". As always I love Kevin & V!

yikes. I was hoping they'd give this a nice wrapped up ending while fiona and Ian were still around....too bad

It's nearing the end; they need to infuse some new characters somehow. But it's better than most and has solid, creative writing and acting.

I've yet to start season 9 but from what I've heard from multiple people and all over the web, it's not that great. Surprised to hear it's coming back, especially with the character departures.
