The new drama is pulled from the schedule.
March 6, 2015
NBC has cancelled Allegiance, pulling the freshman drama from its schedule after five episodes. The series had gotten off to a slow start since its premiere last month, failing to draw significant viewership in the 10:00pm Thursday time slot.
Beginning next week, the network will move new episodes of The Slap to Thursdays at 10:00pm. In the 8:00pm hour, where The Slap previously aired, episodes of Dateline: The Real Blacklist will air ahead of new episodes of The Blacklist.

It's no wonder why NBC isn't the top network. A show that had some teeth once again bites the dust. I know. Let's put another mindless reality show on to cater to the 20-30 age group. Thank heavens for the BBC and Masterpiece Theater.

I was talking about it with my Dad, and he thinks the problem may be that the characters weren't entirely likable because some of them were technically traitors to the US. And I agree, it did seem to be a little too similar to The Americans.
I hadn't realized it was up against How to Get Away With Murder but that wasn't the brightest move. If that was the problem I wish they could have given it another couple weeks since How to Get Away With Murder finished its season.

FX already has a smash hit with the Americans, why did network TV think they could do better.

Another one bites the dust. 3/4 of all new shows get cancelled and it sucks. Why bother to make new shows if you're not invested in them becoming a success. For example.. if they wanted it to become a success they wouldn't have it air in the same time slot as Scandal.

Screw this! I liked it!

Very disappointing! It never had a chance against How to Get Away with Murder. I really enjoyed it, but then again I don't think there is much of anything left I watched on NBC...

Of course they did. No interesting shows get a chance. We live in a world of instant gratification and intense stimulation. And at 10pm on a Thursday the demographics seems to be all the people who require this intense stimulation instantly. So any show that requires any kind of exposition is due to fail.

This is exactly why when a new show comes on, I wait until I have several episodes on my DVR before I bother watching. Since this show has been pulled, I just deleted all episodes u watched and saved myself a bunch of time. I wasn't too excited about it anyway, sounded like a cheap imitation of The Americans.
