The long-running series will end with a TV movie.
May 13, 2015
CBS has cancelled CSI: Crime Scene Investigation after 15 seasons. On the air since 2000, the long-running crime procedural made a huge impact on the television landscape during its run. The show ascended to the top of the ratings charts, becoming a flagship series for the network and ushering in countless copycat series. CSI became a billion-dollar franchise, winning awards, spawning three spin-offs of its own - CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, and the recent CSI: Cyber - and ending as one of the longest-running dramas on television.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will conclude its run with a two-hour TV movie on September 27. Original stars William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger will return to send the series off. Current star Ted Danson is said to be moving over to CSI: Cyber as a regular on that series.

jaunita, marg is a very sexy woman. She is in her fifties. When you are that age will someone younger call you fugly? Perhaps you should stop listening to disgusting rap music? It promotes hatred for women for sure. CSI was a monster hit and it was a great show. It had high ratings up to the end of the show and it was cancelled because it was so expensive to make and they wanted to make new shows. It will be interesting to see if csi cyber makes it past season 2.

I Danson will ruin CSI: Cyber like he ruined CSI: CSI. Not a fan of his acting anymore. Used to be good but somehow changed over the years. I like Cyber so hopefully he will have a minimal role on it.

This great show will retire gracefully, I hope. I am a big fan of vintage CSI with Grissom and the gang. So much so that I DVR the repeats on USA every Friday morning. CSI: Cyber can be very good if it gets whatever it is that makes CSI, CSI. It's not there yet. Maybe Danson helps that. As for the other spin-offs, CSI: Sneer (Miami) and CSI: Snarl (NYC), glad they went away.

I can't believe CSI was up to 15 season! I haven't been as much of a devoted watcher for the past 5 seasons, but the show did a good run. I'm glad that Peterson is going to make it back to the show for the movie finale and I'm curious how they're going to end it all. Hopefully George Eads makes an appearance as well!

Well, on one hand it's sad because it's the end of an era with CSI (I'm honestly surprised CSI: Cyber got picked up. I missed an episode a few weeks back but I realized I didn't really care lol), but at the same time I think it's good they're ending it. It's been on for so long and it just be me the same thing over and over again. RIP, CSI.

Danson probably won't enjoy his port over to CSI Cyber because it will probably be cancelled before too long.
