No Season 2 for the new drama.
June 15, 2015
It is being reported that A&E has cancelled The Returned after one season. The freshman drama aired 10 episodes this spring but failed to draw significant ratings for the cable network.
The Returned was an adaptation of the 2012 French series Les Revenants. Even though that show premiered three years ago, it will be returning for a second season this fall. Another American series with a similar premise, Resurrection, was also cancelled last month after two seasons on ABC.

That's too bad but honestly the French version was so much better. Glad there will be a season 2 for that anyway.

It's sad that new shows get cancelled after one season but it's because networks don't give tv shows a chance.

A&E needs to stop green lighting a show for a season that ends in a cliffhanger if they aren't sure about a season 2. It's really quite annoying, why not end the show in a way that satisfies the audience?

@Moe Stevens: Time is money. I dont want to sound like all I do is sit on the couch and watch TV but the few shows I DO invest my time in, I want to see them wrapped up properly. The networks waste my time, they owe me money as far as im concerned. I value my time, dont hate on me because YOU apparently dont. Your time is worth what you think its worth. Obviously yours is worth zero. I have no life? I cant help but sit here and chuckle at that statement. Ya got no idea buddy.

Personally I loved this show and hope Netflix picks it up

This show must have impressed SOMEBODY. Netflix is in talks to pick it up. @Moe Stevens: even what some people think are the SUCKIEST of shows will still have hundreds of thousands of followers. That should be taken into account when they just ax a show. Its not about someone choosing its about the fact that there WILL be all those people following any given show regardless of how good or bad it is and those people deserve a wrap up.....even if they have to do a kickstarter campaign to help sponser and pay for those last remaining episodes. There are many shows I would have paid money to see a wrap up. I think you're focused way to mutch on this particular show but what about the shows that YOU liked that YOU DIDNT think sucked that got he early ax? C'mon man, focus on the big picture not just your little corner of this subject.

Joe abc is owned by Disney. A&E is half owned by Disney.

This show was NOT original and was given a chance. Lets not blame reality tv for killing it. What killed it was the fact we live in THE golden age of TV. You have to bring it to survive. Reality tv is cheap so it can fill the gaps when a show doesn't bring it, but come on, AMC actually got ride of reality tv when there shows started to bring it. A&E is going to have a long road to get away from its Duck Fakeasty, Storage Lies, and Christly and the beard.
This show would have worked on another....no even ABC couldn't pull of the idea.
