The new drama will not return for Season 2.
June 30, 2015
NBC has canceled freshman drama American Odyssey after one season. Word spread on social media this evening after some involved with the show took to Twitter with the bad news.
Those following the spring series' ratings likely saw the writing on the wall for some time now. Though American Odyssey premiered with decent numbers for its first episode back in April, viewership fell to less than half that by its third week. The network did air the show's full first season, with the finale airing on June 28.

So agree with Michael. It seems this has been the worst year yet for cancellations of show that did not get a finalization to make it complete

Has just started airing in uk guess it will not be worth the bother now.Any one watching will more than likely switch off.Guess the low ratings are due to America not liking the bad gov storyline. After all the do beleive in manifest destiny.

I really liked this one. I agree with Michael. This makes me hesitant to watch new shows.

I liked this show actually. If networks decide to cancel a show, they should always have closure for fans. I hate it that it has an open ending, it keeps me wondering why I keep watching new shows, never knowing if I will get a decent ending or that it just stops in the middle of the storyline. What is the point of making shows anymore...

Wow...this is the first show on IsMyShowCancelled.com of which I have never heard mention and never seen a promo that was on ABC, AMC, CBS, FOX, FX, NBC, TNT, or USA. I'm flummoxed. Considering the minor amount of advertising that there must have been, it could have been a great show, but no one would have known that it was on / watched it.

I haven't seen the finale yet.
I assume poor Odelle will be forever frozen in her odyssey in TV land and her young daughter will never get to see her mom again.

At least THEY GAVE IT A CHANCE. It was on NBC so off course it was not going to be heard of and unknown. At least they are canning it for LOW RATINGS not because of some reality show. As AMC, FX, HBO, USA, TVLAND, ect have shown, if the show can step up then it will last. AMC shows stepped up and they GOT RID of reality tv. This show never stepped up to the level of modern tv. But at least WE AGREE THAT NBC GAVE IT A CHANCE.

I've never even heard of this show. I'm not saying I watch every show out there but I'm usually at least pretty knowledgeable about what shows are on the basic networks. Hmm.
Also, to the comment about multiple story lines, some shows do pull that off (like Orphan Black for example) but I do agree that it has to be done right. Otherwise you just have a massive confusing mess to deal with.

So disappointed! !! Any time a show could possibly make our government look like there is some corruption involved it gets canceled. No matter how amazing it is. So, so sad
