IFC picks up the comedy ahead of its premiere.
August 18, 2015
IFC announced today that its new comedy Documentary Now! has been renewed for seasons 2 and 3. The freshman series, which parodies some of the world's best-known documentaries, is set to premiere this Thursday at 10pm. The show is created, written, and executive-produced by SNL alums Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, and Seth Meyers.
Today's news marks the first time the network has ordered new seasons of a series ahead of its network debut. One additional two-part episode has also been added to the show's first season, bringing its total to seven.

Well.. I saw Episode 2... sneak peek on demand for IFC. It was okay.. but just okay. Not sure it was strong enough to make me tune into the rest of season 1, let alone another season already. Must be renewed early due to some other "deal" on the table, not on the shows merits alone.
