ABC Family announced today that Switched at Birth has been renewed for a fifth season. The veteran drama, which continues to rank as one of the network's top-rated original series, will reach the 100-episode milestone when it returns.
Today's renewal comes ahead of the show's fourth-season finale, which airs this Monday. Look for Season 5 of Switched at Birth to premiere in 2016 under ABC Family's rebranded moniker, Freeform.

Happy to hear this. It's still one of my favorite shows. It's not as good as it was a few seasons ago but it's still good.
I've said this before but if this show should be on one of the big 3 networks. It's that good and deserves to be seen by just it's "market audience." Most people think that just cause it's on ABC Family, that it's for teens and dismiss it which is a shame.

I was not expecting to be another season for Switched at Birth despite of the Nelson Low Rating. Well, a least I stick around still watching this show.
