ABC has cut back on the new drama's season.

It is being reported that ABC has trimmed the episode count for Blood & Oil, down to 10 from its original order of 13. The move comes after a slow start for the drama on Sundays, where it ranks as the lowest-performing series in the network's prime time lineup for the night.
For now the show's remaining six episodes are still scheduled to air, which will see it wrapping up in December. A second season, however, does not look to be in the cards.

Love this show,it gets better each week.The characters machinations are uncovered more as to understand their parts.
It's not Dallas as some have said.I hope ABC gives this show a chance.

If a show gets low ratings it gets the ax. Simple as that. If you like a show that is canceled then that means most people aren't as interested in that show as you are. It's not complicated. But clearly a lot of idiots don't get it. A show gets low ratings and is dropped and people whine about the network.

The walking dead has nothing to do with this shows ratings. The mentalists viewers increased when it moved to Sunday's. It averaged 9 million viewers. This show is a Dallas like soap drama. If it's not hitting the numbers expected it would either be poor quality or not wanting to watch a soap opera before the work week starts.

The Walking dead kills everyones ratings on sundays... If it was on a differant night I bet it's ratings would be much better it is a good show...

Another show I watch that does not look like a pick up - hmm- I watch the player, minority report, blood and oil and the now canceled the dome- so tired of the networks cancelling a show so soon- no wonder I don't watch much network tv- I never know if it will be around in a month

This show must be cancelled, why? because it so boring and very slow and it stupid. They are trying to copy one of the greatest TV series, Dallas. No one will top that.

some do not not understand ratings, if a show gets low ratings, it gets cancelled. ABC is doing the right thing. B&O needs to be cancelled.

This is such a great show!! I cannot believe Abc, it makes me not want to watch any of their new shows, they don't give them a chance!! There is a lot if competition in this time slot, and this show is gaining speed and getting better each week!!
