The revival series concludes this month.
January 13, 2016
Though always planned as a limited series, NBC confirmed today that Heroes Reborn will be ending its run after one season. The Tim Kring superhero drama, which acted as a revival of the once-popular, previously-cancelled Heroes, premiered as part of the network's 2015 fall schedule for a 13-episode stint.
The reboot didn't do much to renew viewer interest in the franchise, however, and its lackluster ratings on Thursday nights reflected that. One would imagine that if Reborn managed to draw a sizable audience, NBC might have explored possibilities to bring the show back for further installments. But as it stands now, the network says no more incarnations are planned for the foreseeable future.
Heroes Reborn airs its series finale on Thursday, January 21.

What made NBC bring this show back in the first place? With all the original TV shows on today, why did they bring back this tired trope?

Show suffered from the same problem that the previous series did, they relied too heavily on Time Travel powers and didn't really give the "bad guys" a good enough reason for them to be bad.

This show wasn't the same since the writers strike around season 2. Bringing it back did not help, especially when they try to make a very complicated story in a limited time frame. Too many moving parts made the season feel disjointed and forced.

Why do they always leave shows that aren't coming back with cliff hangers?

Looks like there is no room for conspiracy theory shows with a little bit of sci-fi in their content. Person of Interest and Heroes Reborn announcing the end is near, about the same time, makes me sad. Bit were among my favorite shows. I liked the original Heroes series and was sad to see it getting cancelled. Now this one. Looks like kardashians and their spin offs or imitations will be the only thing to watch on tv in the near future. So sick of survivor and other so-called reality shows. Yet the networks keep piling up on those. Cheap trumps quality I believe. No wonder people don't watch tv any longer. There is nothing to watch. Seriously.

They cast Chuck and I love that show so I wasn't going to watch this series. Period. Most shows would do much better with "street casting."

this is not surprising, however, the show got better each week and that's a good thing. It also was on the wrong night. Thursday night kills many shows. I watched every episode and they made it a interesting story overall about the end of the world. It is a shame that this is not getting a second series. The acting was not bad in this show. it was as good as any other show on tv at the time.

Lol....hey bub...yes and I use it... I have a wife that I have to record shows she likes while I watch football. I enjoyed the show but realize it wasn't as good as the original.

Thank heavens...the acting was horrendous.
