The Jennifer Lopez drama nabs Season 2.

NBC announced today that mid-season replacement Shades of Blue has been renewed for a second season. The freshman drama, which stars Jennifer Lopez in her first lead role in a scripted prime time series, premiered in early January and has drawn solid ratings through its first five episodes.
Season 1 of Shades of Blue is currently airing on Thursday nights, and is slated to run for 13 episodes. No details on Season 2 have been released at this time.

The only reason this show was picked up for a 2nd season is Lopez and the weight she carries in the entertainment industry. Liotta's character is predictable. Ms. Lopez is a so so actress (B); no depth to her performances. Since the TV is my only form of entertainment and I am NOT a talent or reality show person, I guess at the age of 70 I will have to learn how to knit.

thought this would have been cancelled just another cop show same lines as all the others no characters here the only draw is washed up jlo who i cannot stand simply for the fact she wears real furs and flaunts it.

I think the show is terrible. I just watch because it's so funny...unitentionally funny.

Ray Liotta playing a Gay, Corrupt Police Lieutenancy ... no thank you. How low as Liotta's career gone that he has to take parts like this to work?

First episode was not very good and didn't catch me at all. But I gave it another try with episode 2 and it really picked up. Show has turned out to be really good.

I watched 1 episode and waited for this information... my problem is the first episode didn't grab me, so if it was renewed or canceled I didn't care, now I have to decide if I want to watch it lol

This is great news. I really love JLo but I wasn't sure about the show, I've watched the 1st 3 episodes and I'm already very engaged into the story line. It's a different take on the prime time cop drama and it works really well.

wow ... 5 episodes air ..and its renewed for another Season ... it is very very good though.
