The new drama nabs a quick Season 2 order.
February 18, 2016
HBO announced today that Vinyl has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes just four days after the rock 'n' roll drama's 2-hour premiere, which was directed by Martin Scorsese. Early reception of the freshman series has been positive, though its ratings were on the modest side.
Vinyl airs new episodes on Sunday night with Season 1 scheduled to wrap in April. 10 episodes in total are on tap for this season, though no word yet on an episode count for Season 2.

How many times has a network cancelled a series after one episode, it's rare but has happened, they didn't even give them a chance in case people forgot the date of the new showwas to air.

I couldn't make it through the first episode. While the actors are decent, the music sucked. The show kept showcasing genres I dislike so if this is gonna be the way the show rolls I'm out.

Also Paul Hall it's an HBO and they tend to give their shows at least 2 seasons, will more then likely get a 3rd too.

Bobby Cannavale is a great actor. His presence on screen is superb. His Charachter on Boardwalk Empire was what got him this job, and it is well deserved.

Wow. Not saying there's anything wrong with the ONLY episode that's aired so far.....But to renew it already is definitely premature on HBO's part. Meanwhile good shows that had a whole season and were renewed then get the rug pulled out from under them.......The brink DESERVED a 2nd season, was given one and THEN was canceled......Which means this renewal after one whole episode means NOTHING. HBO could turn around and cancel it after next weeks episode. Is anyone else wondering when HBO hired former Fox exec's to run their programming(into the GROUND)????
