The final season begins in May.
March 16, 2016
After a long wait, there is finally some news to report on a premiere date for Season 5 of Person of Interest. It has been almost a year since the veteran drama was renewed for a fifth season, and today CBS has scheduled its premiere for Tuesday, May 3 at 10:00pm.
Seemingly wanting to get the season over with as soon as possible, the network is also adding new episodes on Monday nights at 10:00pm for a total of two new episodes each week beginning May 9.
The season finale will air on Tuesday, June 21 at 10:00pm.
Update: CBS has confirmed that Person of Interest will end after Season 5.
“We’re extremely excited to be able share this final season with the fans,” said series creator & executive producer Jonah Nolan and executive producer Greg Plageman in an issued statement. “We’re eternally grateful to our amazing cast and crew, as well as our partners at the studio and network. Most of all, we want to thank the show’s fans — the best fans in the world. This subversive little paranoia-inducing cyberpunk-thriller is for you and would not have been possible without your support. As life has come to imitate Person of Interest, it’s been our great privilege to work on the show for the past five seasons. We can’t wait for you to experience this thrilling and final chapter.”

It's not really "cancelled". Isn't it just completed? The final season will air...

Why do the shows that make you "think" get canned and 30-minute sitcom crap continues? Happen with CSI....I don't care for the new CSI Cyber, Limitless, etc. I hope none of the characters are "killed off", maybe, as a previous person commented, movies will spring up as with Star Trek? I can see myself purchasing the boxed set🤓

WHEN THE 5 YEAR CONTRACTS UP THE SALARIES FOR THE STARS INCREASES SO YOU HAVE TO WEIGHT THE NUMBERS THE BUDGET AGAINST REALITY SHOWS THAT COST NEXT TO NOTHING AND PRODUCE NUMBERS.
PS CELEBS HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO SAY IN WHAT IS SHOWN BY THE BIG TV CORPORATIONS ITS ON THE BOTTOM LINE AND SYNDICATION.
AND THAT'S A BIG BLOOMER IF YOU THINK DIFFERENT.

I love this show and absolutely hate to see it end!!! It's crazy how some of these shows stay on television but shows like POI get canned !!! I really hope Netflixs picks up the show bc I personally will miss it a great deal. To the cast, writers, producers and all those behind the scenes who made this show happen thank you and best of luck. This show brought my family together to sit down and watch tv as a family it is hard these days but we always made time to watch this show with one another.. I am def goin miss it !!

CBS should have kept this show. How many other CBS shows had such good numbers?

Yeah, it got canceled, but it should still officially on air. Why would you label it as canceled? This should only be effective once Season 5 is done.
