The final season begins in May.
March 16, 2016
After a long wait, there is finally some news to report on a premiere date for Season 5 of Person of Interest. It has been almost a year since the veteran drama was renewed for a fifth season, and today CBS has scheduled its premiere for Tuesday, May 3 at 10:00pm.
Seemingly wanting to get the season over with as soon as possible, the network is also adding new episodes on Monday nights at 10:00pm for a total of two new episodes each week beginning May 9.
The season finale will air on Tuesday, June 21 at 10:00pm.
Update: CBS has confirmed that Person of Interest will end after Season 5.
“We’re extremely excited to be able share this final season with the fans,” said series creator & executive producer Jonah Nolan and executive producer Greg Plageman in an issued statement. “We’re eternally grateful to our amazing cast and crew, as well as our partners at the studio and network. Most of all, we want to thank the show’s fans — the best fans in the world. This subversive little paranoia-inducing cyberpunk-thriller is for you and would not have been possible without your support. As life has come to imitate Person of Interest, it’s been our great privilege to work on the show for the past five seasons. We can’t wait for you to experience this thrilling and final chapter.”

Glad they're letting the series conclude. I liked this show but the whole Root thing was getting really old. I think the show would've done better by giving that character a limited run.

Why is the status of this show showing cancelled on this page, surely if the producers note above and 2 episodes per week in final season starting may and ending in june means they intend to conclude POI not cancel?

This was the best show ever and I never had enough of it, Brilliant dialog and great stories of the human condition. Then it went awry, HR dragged on but IMO it was Root/Shaw that ultimate killed the show. Person of Interest became Machine of Interest. It is no longer about "victim or perpetrator" but meaningless violence from Root and Shaw. Decima's leader and the woman are the least attractive characters. They never got back on track. Despite that I will miss Mr. Reese and Mr. Finch.

Hate to see it go, I really like the show. What is next, who knows, I only hope someone can come up with a show that's half as good ! It was a blast, good luck to everyone !!! My opinion, thanks ...

Damn......this is a show that really would have been nice to allow to have a conclusion season. Even a dang 3 night movie to close it up.

I'm with Lesley 100%. I hate when shows overstay their welcome. Good shows that milk the viewers until they get cancelled. That's what ruins tv. Gets tiring spending years on a storyline to never get an ending.

You know Lesley it's the stupid people like you who help get rid of the good shows read the rant since you can't understand Person of Interest shouldn't have gotten an ending it should have been renewed for a sixth season but wait for it Lesley we don't want Limitless or Ncis New Orleans they are garbage shows so one more who votes for these ratings I would love to vote for ratings on shows since I had to explain it to you Lesley maybe you should be part of a solution instead of a problem!!
